Charging the battery

Before you use the controller for the first time, or after you have not used it for a long time, you must charge the battery. (If the controller will not be used for long periods of time, the battery should be recharged at least once every six months.) It takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery.

To charge the battery

1Insert the mini-USB plug on the charging cable into the USB port on the front of the controller.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the min-USB plug is aligned correctly with the port before inserting into the plug to avoid damaging either the port or the plug.

NOTE: Recharging a battery that has not been fully discharged shortens its life.

2Insert the USB plug into the USB port on your PS3, which must be plugged in and drawing power.

3Turn on your PS3. The battery starts charging

and the PS button in the middle of

the controller lights blue. When the

battery is fully charged, the PS light

turns off.
