INSTALLING THE HERA INTO YOUR SYSTEM

Connecting the Power Supply to the Preamplifier

The Hera Preamplifier is a two box preamplifier, where the power supply and AC/DC conversion is placed in a separate box to lower the noise floor of the unit. The preamplifier chassis is designed to sit directly on top of the power supply chassis, see Figure 1. The two boxes may be placed on different racks if this is more convenient in your system and optional longer cables are available from Rogue Audio if needed. There are three cables provided with the Hera for connecting the power supply to the preamplifier. These are four, five and six conductor cables. See Figure 2. These cables have both male and female ends on them. Connect the four conductor cable to the power supply using the male end of the cable and then connect the cable to the preamplifer using the female end of the cable. Do the same for the five and six conductor cables. It is important to make these connections before connecting the power cord to the wall outlet. Note that certain critical portions of the Hera circuitry remain energized even when the unit is turned off so do not disconnect any of these cables while the power supply is plugged into a power outlet.

Warning – Never disconnect any of the three cables while the power supply is plugged into a power outlet.

When moving the preamp always turn off the power, wait 15 minutes and then unplug the preamp from the power outlet before disconnecting any of the three rear cables.

Hera specifications

Rogue Audio has established itself as a prominent name in the world of high-fidelity audio, and the Hera preamplifier is a testament to its commitment to quality and performance. The Hera preamplifier is designed for audiophiles seeking a perfect blend of modern technology and classic engineering principles.

One of the standout features of the Hera is its dual-mono construction, which ensures that each channel operates independently. This design minimizes crosstalk and enhances soundstage depth, delivering a more immersive listening experience. Equipped with a wide range of inputs, the Hera accommodates virtually any source component. It integrates seamlessly with digital and analog equipment, including turntables, CD players, and streaming devices.

The Hera’s sound is characterized by remarkable clarity, detail, and dynamic range — hallmark traits of high-end audio gear. This is achieved through Rogue Audio's innovative circuitry, which has been meticulously engineered to minimize signal degradation. The preamplifier utilizes a combination of high-quality capacitors, resistors, and a specially designed power supply to ensure that the audio signal remains pure.

Another noteworthy aspect of the Hera is its tube-based design. By utilizing 12AX7 tubes in its signal path, the preamplifier can deliver the warmth and richness that many audiophiles desire while maintaining a fast response time and accurate sound reproduction. The tubes can be easily accessed for rolling, allowing users to tailor their sound to their preferences, making the Hera more than just a standard preamp.

The Hera also features a robust, metal chassis that provides superior shielding against electromagnetic interference. This enhances overall sound quality and adds to the longevity of the unit. Its minimalist aesthetic, complete with a clear and intuitive front panel, makes it an attractive addition to any audio system.

In conclusion, the Rogue Audio Hera preamplifier combines advanced technology with classic audio design, offering exceptional sound quality and versatility. With its dual-mono architecture, extensive input options, tube-driven circuitry, and durable construction, it stands as a top contender for anyone serious about experiencing high-fidelity audio. Whether you are listening to your favorite vinyl or streaming high-resolution files, the Hera promises to elevate your listening experience to new heights.
