Making a Multi-Track Recording
Recording On Other Tracks (Overdubbing)
The VS-2480/2480CD allows you to record new performances on other tracks while
you listen to the playback of previously recorded tracks. This process is called
Overdubbing.
In the following example we will explain how to use a mic connected to the INPUT
2 jack to record a vocal on track 3 while you listen to the acoustic guitar performance
that you recorded earlier on track 1.
As described in “Adjusting the Input Sensitivity (p. 35),” adjust the input
sensitivity of the mic connected to the INPUT 2 jack before you begin.
1. Press [HOME (DISPLAY)].

[TRACK STATUS] will blink red.
5. Assign the source which you wish to record, following the procedure
described in “Recording a Track” step 5–7 (p. 36). For this example, assign
the Input Mixer channel 2 to Track Mixer channel 3.
6. Adjust the input sensitivity and recording level of the ANALOG INPUT
jack 2, following the procedure described in Adjusting the Input
Sensitivity (p. 35).”
7. Raise and lower channel fader 3, verify that the volume changes. The Track
Mixer channel fader is used for monitoring. It does not affect the recording
level. You can record even if you hear no sound. Adjust the fader to a
comfortable level for monitoring.
