The U.S.EnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),theCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard (CARB),and TechtronicIndustriesNodh America,Inc., are pleasedto explainthe EmissionsControlSystemWarrantyon your 2007 modelyearnon-roador smallofi- road engine.In California,new equipmentthat usessmalloff-roadenginesmust be designed,built,and equippedto meet the states stringentanti-smogstandafds.In other states, new 2000 and later model year non-roadenginesmust be designed, built, and equipped at the tjme of sale to meet the U.S. EPAregulationsfof small non-roadengines.The non-roadenginemust be free from defects in materialsand workmanshipwhich cause it to fail to conformwith U.S. EPAstandardsfor the first two years of engineuse from the date of saleto the ultimatepurchaserTechtronic IndustriesNorth America,Inc., must wafrant the emissioncontrol sysiem on your non-roador smalloff-roadenginefor the perjod oftime listedabove providedthere has been no abuse, neglect,or impropermaintenanceof your non-road or small off-roadengine.

Youremissioncontrolsystemmay includepartssuchasthe carburetororfuel injection system,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverters,fuel tanks,valves,filters,clamps, connectors,and other associatedcomponents.Also includedmay be hoses,belts and connectors,and other emission-relatedassemblios.

Wherea warantable conditionexists,TechtronicIndustriesNorthAmerica,Inc.,will repairyour non-roador small off-road engineat no cost to you, includingdiagno- sis, parts, and labor perfomed at an authorizedseruicecenter for RYOBIobfand outdoor products.

MANUFACTURER'S WARRANW COVERAGE:

This product'senissions control system is waranted for two years. lf any emis- sion-relatedpart on your engineis defociive,the part will be repaifedor replacedby TechtronicIndustriesNolrh America,Inc.,free of charge.

OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES

(a)As the non-roador small off-road engine ownel you are responsiblefof the performanco of the required maintenancelisted in your operator'smanual. Techtronic Industries North America, Inc-, recommends that Vou retajn all re- ceipts coveringmaintenanceon your non-roador small off-road engine,but Techtronic lndustries North America, lnc., cannot deny warianty solely for the lack of receipts or for your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduled maintenance.Any replacemontpart or service that is equivalentin performance and durability may be used in non-waranty maintenanceor repatrs, and shall not reduce the waranty obligationsof TechtroniclndustriesNorth America, Inc.

(b)As the non-roador small off-roadengineowner,you should be aware,however, that TechtronicIndustriesNorth America,lnc., may deny you wa(anty coverageif your non-roador small off-road engineor a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, impfopermaintenance,or unapprovedmodifications.

(c)You are responsiblefor presentingyour non-roador small off-roadengineto an authorizedseruicedealeras soon as a problemexists.The watranty repairsshould be completedin a reasonableamo!nt of time, not to exceed30 days.

TechtronicIndustriesNorth Amefica, Inc.,warants to the ultimatepurchaserand each subsequentpurchaserthat your non-roador smalloff-roadengineis designed,built,and equippedatthe time of sale to conformwith all applicableregulationsadopted by the CaliforniaAir Resources Boardorthe UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency;and that it is freefrom defectsin materialsand workmanshipwhichcausethe enginetofailto conformwith applicableregulationslor a periodoftwo yearsfrom the date the non-roador small off-roadengineis purchasedby the initialpurchase[

(c)The warranty on emissions-relatedparts wjll be interpretedas follows: Any warrantedpart that is not scheduledfor replacementas requiredin the Emissions MaintenanceScheduleand WarrantyParis List set forth below is warfantedfor two

years.lfany suchpart any pad that is schedlled onlyfor regularinspection) {including

fails during the period of wairanty coverage,it will be repairedor replacedat any RYOBI@AuthorizedSeruiceCentefat no charge.Any such part repairedor replaced underwarrantywill be wa(anted for the remainingwarrantyperiod.A statementto the effect of "repairor replaceas necessary"would not reducethe period of war ranty coverage.Any warrantedpart that is scheduledfor replacementas required maintenancein the EmissionslvaintenanceScheduleand Waranty Parts List is waranted for the period of time prior to the first scheduledreplacementpoint for that part. Any such part repairedor replaced under watranty is waranted for the remainderof the period priof to the first scheduledreplacementpojnt, and will be repairedor replacedat any HYOBI@AuthorizedSeruiceCenterfor no charge until that reolacementooint is reached.

TechtronicIndustriesNorth America, Inc., shall remedy warranty defects at any authorizedRYOBI@Authorized SeNice Centef, including any distribution center that may be franchisedto s€ryice the subiect engines.Any diagnosticwork done at a RYOBI@AuthorizedSeryiceCentershall be free of chargeto the owner if such work detefminesthat a warrantedpart is defective.Any manufacturerapprovedof equivalentreplacementpart may be used for any wa(anty maintenanceor repairs on emission-relatedparts,and must be providedfree of chargeto the owner if the part is still under warranty.TechtroniclndustriesNodh America, Inc., is liable fof damages to other engine componentscaused by the failureof a warranted part still underwarranty.

Add-onor modifiedpaftsthatare notoxemptedbytheCaliforniaAk BesourceBoard may not be used. The use of any non-exemptedadd-on or modified parts will be groundsfor disallowingawaranty claim.TechtronicIndustri€sNorthAmerica,Inc., will not be liableto waffant failuresof waranted parts causedby the use of a non- exemotedadd-on or modifiedoart.
