Blu-ray-skivor stöder den mest högkvalitativa HD- videon som finns tillgänglig i branschen – stor kapacitet innebär inga kompromisser när det gäller videokvalitet. Dessutom har en Blu-ray-skiva samma bekanta storlek och ser ut som en DVD- skiva.

Följande Blu-ray Disc-funktioner varierar beroende på skiva.

Videomarkeringar

BD-ROM-formatet stöder tre mycket avancerade video codec, inklusive AVC, VC-1 och MPEG-2. HD videoupplösning är också tillgängligt:

•1920 x 1080 Högupplöst

•1280 x 720 Högupplöst

För högupplöst uppspelning

Om du vill visa högupplöst innehåll på BD-skivor krävs en HDTV (High Definition Television). Vissa skivor kan kräva användning av spelarens HDMI OUT för att visa högupplöst innehåll.

Möjligheten att se högupplöst innehåll på Blu- ray-skivor kan vara begränsad beroende på upplösningen på din TV.

Interaktiv

Vissa Blu-ray skivor kan innehålla animerade menyer och Trivia-spel.

Bildspel bläddringsbara för användare

Med Blu-ray Disc kan du bläddra mellan stillbilder medan ljudet spelas upp.

Textning

Beroende på vad Blu-ray Disc innehåller kan du ha möjlighet att välja olika teckensnitt, teckenstorlekar och teckenfärg för textning. Textningen kan även animeras, skrollas eller tonas in och ut.

BD-LIVE

Du kan använda en Blu-ray-skiva som stöder BD- LIVE för att hämta innehåll från skivtillverkaren via en nätverksanslutning.

Internet@TV

Du kan ladda ner olika kostnadsfria applikationer eller betalapplikationer via en nätverksanslutning. Olika Internet-tjänster och -innehåll finns, t.ex. nyheter, väderprognoser, aktiekurser, spel, filmer och musik.

Digital TV

•Funktionalitet som är kopplat till Digital TV (DVB) är endast tillgängligt i länder/områden där det sänds DVB-T (MPEG2 och MPEG4 AVC) digitala marksignaler eller där du har åtkomst till kompatibel DVB-C (MPEG2 and MPEG4 AAC) kabel-TV-service. Kontakta din lokala återförsäljare angående möjligheten att ta emot DVB-T- eller DVB-C-signal.

•DVB-T är den DVB europeiska standarden för sändning av digital markbunden television och DVB-C är sändningsöverföringen av digital TV via kabel. Dock är vissa differentierade funktioner som EPG (Electric Programme Guide), VOD (Video On Demand), etc. inte inkluderade i denna specifikation. De kanske inte alltid fungerar.

•Vissa digital-TV-funktioner kanske inte är tillgängliga i vissa länder eller området och DVB-C kanske inte fungerar som det ska med vissa kabeltjänsteleverantörer.
