ShowView Extended Basic VCR Recording

To prevent delays or over-runs the DVD Recorder & VCR has a function called ShowView Extended allowing you to extended the recording time by up to 60 minutes.

• Only use if PDC is not available or set to OFF.

1 With the unit in Stop mode, press the MENU button.

2 Press the …† buttons to select Programme, then press the OK or √ button.

Before starting

1.Check TV channel and Antenna connections.

2.Check the remaining time on the tape.

You can record a TV show in progress by inserting a blank tape and pressing the (REC) button. You can even add time in 30-minute increments up to 9 hours by pressing the (REC) button repeatedly.

Be sure your videotape has a Record Safety Tab.

Note If the tab is missing, you can cover the opening with a small piece of tape.

4 Press the …† buttons to select the ShowView Extended time, then the press OK or √ button.

5 Press the MENU button to exit the menu.

1	Insert a blank VHS tape into the VCR deck.
	• Make sure the tape is long enough to record the

entire programme.

2 Press the 0–9buttons or the PROG/TRK ( / ) buttons to select the desired channel.

Press the INPUT SEL. button to select AV1, AV2, AUX or DV if recording from an external device connected to the front or rear inputs, respectively.

3 Press the REC SPEED button on the remote control to set the Record Speed to one of the following options:

•SP – Standard Play, for best picture quality.

•LP – Long Play, for maximum recording time (3 times SP).

	The selected Record Speed will appear on the
	front panel display and on-screen display.
