Blændeindstillingen, lukkerhastighed og ISO-følsomheden hænger snævert sammen, når der tages et billede. Blændeindstillingen kontrollerer den åbning, der regulerer lysmængden, der kommer ind i kameraet, mens lukkerhastighed bestemmer hvor lang tid, lyset får lov til at komme ind.
