USING THE FLASH

Using the flash, you can capture clear and bright photos even under shadows, at night or indoors which need more light.

PRECHECK!

Select the Photo record ( ) mode by pressing the MODE button. ￿page 27

Press the Flash ( ) button to select the flash mode you want.

• The selected flash mode is displayed.

Flash works automatically when the subject or background is dark.

If the object or background is dark, a flash of the camcorder operates automatically and performs as pre-flash that helps reduce the incidence of red eyes.

Flash always works regardless of brightness.

Light intensity is adjusted automatically.

Flash works as the shutter speed is slow.

•It is suitable for use around sundown or in dark places.

•It is recommended to use the tripod (purchase separately) to prevent camcorder shake.

In Smart Auto mode, the smart flash icon appears automatically. According to the brightness for subject and background, the flash automatically works.

• Do not use the flash with a hand covered on it.

• Do not use a flash too close to eyes of a person.

• Select a flash and press the PHOTO button. The camcorder performs pre-flash to make sure the recording conditions (distance from objects and light amount for recording) Do not move until the second flash performs.

•As using flash consumes more power, the more the flash is used, the shorter the battery time is.

•While charging the flash, the flash does not operate with its icon turned red.

•Flash charging time is within 5 seconds, however, it may take longer to charge the flash when the battery is low.

•You can capture bright and clear photos in the recordable range with use of a flash.

•When you recording a strongly reflecting object or out of the recordable range, bright and clear images cannot be captured.

•When you are recording with use of a flash in a dark place, foreign substances like dust can be

reflected to the flash light so that blur and white dots (such as round dots, white circle) may appear

 

 

on images. This is not the camcorder’s malfunction.

 

 

• You cannot use a flash in the following conditions.
