Valik Primary Source aktiveeritakse, kui praegust videoallikat ei tunta ära. Valik Secondary source aktiveeritakse, kui ühtki esmast videoallikat pole saadaval. Kui esmast või teisest allikat ei tunta ära, otsib monitor uuesti; kui aktiivset videosignaali ei leita, näitab monitor sisendsignaali puudumise teadet.

Kui valik Primary Source on olekus All, otsib monitor aktiivset videoallikat tuvastada püüdes kõik videoallika sisendid kaks korda järjest läbi ja pöördub järjestuse esimese videoallika juurde tagasi, kui videot ei leita.

Kui aktiivne videosignaal leitakse, valitakse Primary Source; kui videosignaali ei leita, vali- takse Secondary Source; kui ka valikuga Secondary Source videosignaali ei leita, kuvatakse sisendsignaali puudumise teadet.
