3D-effekten kan opleves forskelligt, afhængigt af den enkelt seer. Du bemærker måske slet ikke 3D- effekten, hvis du har et syn på det ene øje, der er meget forskelligt fra det andet øje.

Når du ser en 3D-video under en fluorescerende lampe eller en lampe med 3 bølgelængder, kan du se en lille smule skærmflimmer.

Støj kan betyde, at 3D-brillerne måske ikke fungerer korrekt, hvis der i nærheden findes andre tændte 3D-produkter eller elektromagnetiske enheder (mikrobølgeovne eller enheder der bruger 2,4 GHz-frekvensområdet, som f.eks. en internet-router). Hvis der sker noget utilsigtet med 3D-brillerne, er det bedst at fjerne elektromagnetiske enheder eller trådløse kommunikationsenheder tæt på.

Tilskuere med følsomme øjne kan opleve en smule skærmflimmer, når de ser lyse billeder i 50 Hz 3D-video.
