Uso del sistema RDS (Sistema de Datos de Radio) para recibir las emisoras

El sistema RDS permite a las emisoras FM enviar una señal adicional junto con sus señales de programas normales. Porejemplo, las emisoras pueden enviar sus propios nombres, así como también la información acerca del tipo de programaque transmiten (deportes, música, etc.).

Cuando se sintoniza una emisora FM que provee el servicio RDS, elindicador del RDS se ilumina en la ventana de visualización.

Descripción de la función RDS

•PTY(Program Type) : muestra el tipo de programa que está siendo transmitido.

•PS NAME (Program Service Name) : indica el nombre de la emisora con 8 caracteres.

•RT (Radio Text) : Decodes the text broadcast by a station (if any) and is composed of maximum

64 characters.

• RT(Radio Text) : descodifica el texto emitido por una emisora (si lo hay), compuesto por un

máximode 64 caracteres.

• TA(Traffic Announcement) : indica que se está transmiendo el parte de tráfico.

• RDS puede no funcionar bien si la emisora sintonizada no está transmitiendo la señal RDScorrectamente o si la señal es débil.

Para mostrar las señales RDS

Las señales RDS que envía la emisora se pueden ver en la ventana de visualización.

Press the RDS DISPLAY button while listening to an FM station.

• Pulse el botón del modo RDS DISPLAYal escuchar una emisora FM.Cada vez que pulse el botón, se muestra la siguiente información:

PS NAME RT CT Frequency

•PS (Program Service) : durante la búsqueda, aparece <PS>, seguido por los nombres de la emisora.Si no hay ninguna señal, aparece <NO PS>.

• RT(Radio Text) : durante la búsqueda, aparece < RT>, seguido por los mensajes en texto que envíala emisora. Si no hay ninguna señal, aparece <NO RT>.

• Frequency : frecuencia de la emisora (servicio no RDS).

Caracteres mostrados en la ventana de visualización

Cuando la ventana de visualización muestra PS o RT, se usan los siguientes caracteres.

• La ventana de visualización no puede diferenciar las mayúsculas de las minúsculas; siempre utilizalas letras mayúsculas.

• La ventana de visualización no puede mostrar letras con acentos ortográficos. <A>, por ejemplo,puede corresponder a una <A> con acento, como <À>, <Á>, <Â>, <Ã>, <Ä> e <Å>.

• En caso de que se interrumpa la búsqueda, <PS> y <RT> no aparecerán en la ventana

devisualización.
