Settings
(Menu 9)
GSM 900/1800
: the phone operates in the
combined GSM 900/1800 network.
GSM 1900
: the phone operates in the GSM
1900 network. This option is only available in
USA.
UMTS
: the phone operates in UMTS (3G
network) networks. You can get a higher speed
quality than on lower generation networks, and
use advanced data and information services,
such as video calls.

Preferred networks
: select the preferred
network you want to use. You can edit the
network list.
Connections (Menu 9.6.4)
You can set up information about your network
connection. In most cases, you don’t need to change
the settings. In case of problems, please contact
Vodafone .

connection profile you want to edit. The following
options are available:

Set name
: edit the name of the network setting.
•
Access name
: edit the access point name used
for the address of the GPRS network gateway.
•
Authorisation type
: choose the type of
authentication used.
•
User ID
: edit the server login ID.
•
Password
: edit the server password.
•
Protocol
: select the protocol from among
WAP
,
HTTP
, and
Other
.
•
Home URL
: enter your homepage address.
•
Proxy address
/
Port
: (for the HTTP protocol)
set the proxy server address and port.
•
Gateway address
: (for the WAP protocol) set
the gateway address.
•
Secure connection
: (for the WAP protocol) turn
the secure mode on or off.
•
Log-in timeout (sec.)
: set a time period after
which the network is disconnected if there has
been no new data traffic in that time.
•
Advanced settings
:
provide you with the
following options:
Static IP
: specify if you want to manually enter
an IP address; see the Local phone IP option. If
you want the IP address to be automatically
assigned by the server, remove the check mark.
Local phone IP
: enter the IP address obtained
from the network operator, if you checked the
Static IP option.
Static DNS
: specify if you want to manually
enter the DNS (Domain Name Server) address;
see the Server 1/2 option. If you want the
address to be automatically assigned by the
server, remove the check mark.
