xx Kun digitaalinen äänentoistolaitteisto on kytketty DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) -liittimeen, pienennä sekä television että laitteiston äänenvoimakkuutta.

xx 5,1-kanavainen ääni on käytettävissä, jos televisio on kytketty ulkoiseen, 5,1-kanavaista ääntä tukevaan laitteeseen.

xx Kun vastaanotin (kotiteatteri) on päällä, ääni kuuluu television optisen liitännän kautta. Kun televisio vastaanottaa DTV-signaalia, se lähettää kotiteatterivastaanottimeen 5,1-kanavaista ääntä. Kun lähteenä on digitaalinen komponentti, kuten DVD- tai Blu-ray-soitin tai kaapelisovitin tai satelliittivastaanotin (STB), joka on kytketty televisioon HDMI-liitännällä, kotiteatterivastaanottimesta kuuluu vain kaksikanavaista ääntä.
