Următoarele simboluri furnizează indicaţii privind curăţarea materialului. Etichetele cu indicaţii de curăţare includ patru simboluri în următoarea ordine: spălare, înălbire, uscare şi călcare (precum şi curăţare chimică atunci când este necesar). Utilizarea simbolurilor asigură o îngrijire unitară, indiferent de producătorul articolelor vestimentare interne sau importate.
