MD 419
For connection of the MD 419 to your
phones show this increase of low frequencies at dose miking. With the bass filter (Fig. 2) set to position "S" the accentuation of the low frequencies can be eliminated. Therefore, the switch should always be set to position "S" when the distance between mouth and sound source is less than 20 cm. If the distance is more than 20 cm the switch should be set to the middle position. For recordings from a greater distance or when recording music switch position "M" is preferable.

super cardioid. The microphone "hears" best in a forward direction and gets more and more "deaf" towards the sides and the back. Therefore the microphone must always be directed towards the sound source wh ich is to be recorded. Due to the pronounced directionality disturbing noise coming from the sides and from the back are effectively suppressed. Signals reaching the microphone diagonally from the back (120°) produce only 1',2(22 dB) of the voltage which would be produced bya signal reaching the microphone directly from the front. Due to this
characteristic the MD 419 is especially suitable for recordings in acoustically unfavourable environments.

27 G thread, the MD 419 with its quick release clamp will fit them all. The quick release clamp (Fig. 3) is equipped with achanging thread, which can be unscrewed with a coin. For the adaptation to '/2" threads the insert has to taken out, turned around and replaced. If the insert is removed completely the clamp will fit %" x 27 G threads.
