For optimum performance in a vehicle, place in a cup holder or back of headrest
in a carrying harness and run unit with car ventilation system on. If your vehicle is
equipped with both a keyed and non-keyed DC adapter, it is recommended that
the keyed DC adapter be used so that the unit shuts off when the ignition switch is
turned off.
If unit overheats (such as on a hot day without air conditioning), it will shut off
automatically. Unit is equipped with a thermal cutoff switch, which will shut off
when the unit becomes overheated. When the unit cools down, it will resume
operation automatically provided the switch is in the on position.
Operation of unit with car air fresheners is not recommended.
Cleaning the Unit
Unplug the unit and use a water-dampened cloth to remove dust particles that
may accumulate on the unit. Do not use harsh detergents, abrasives, furniture
cleaner, or polishes. Do not spray water or cleaners directly on the unit.
Replacing the AirSource Mobile
Photohydroionization™* Module
1. Turn the AirSource Mobile™ Purification System off and unplug from the
adapter.
2. While pushing up on the cap, insert the end of a paper clip or similar
object into the hole in back of the main body as shown in Figure 1.
This will unlock the Module assembly from the main body. To
fully remove the Module assembly, insert a coin, such as a quarter,
between the cap and the main body. Twist the coin to apply opposing
force to the cap and main body. Pull the Module out of the main body.
3. Press the tabs in on the sides of the Module using the helpful star
identification marks as your pressing points and remove the top cap as
shown in Figure 2. Save the cap and discard the Module.
4. With the metal pins facing downward, slide the new Module into the
cap so that the tabs snap into place. Note: the Module does not have
to be rotated in a specific direction (it can be turned to either the right
or the left).
5. With the top cap facing the front of the unit, line up the grooves on the
Module with the guides on the main body and slide it firmly into place. The
Module will lock into the main body with a snap.
6. Plug the adapter into the unit and switch the unit on.
