determine the presence of signals below the squelch threshold be- fore transmitting. The Monitor switch is either momentary or lock- ing; and the switch can be wired either to ground or to unground the squelch circuit. The Transmit switch bar can be depressed only while the Monitor bar is depressed, thus requiring the operator to verify that the channel is idle before transmitting. The Transmit switch is momentary only and cannot be locked. The Transmit/ Monitor Switch Kit is Shure Model RK199S. General microphone wiring instructions are supplied with the kit, but specific transceiver wiring details must be obtained from the transceiver schematic and/or the manufacturer of the unit.

522 specifications

The Shure 522 is a dynamic microphone well-suited for a variety of vocal applications, particularly in broadcasting, public speaking, and professional recording. Shure has long been recognized for producing high-quality audio equipment, and the model 522 continues this tradition with a robust design and impressive audio performance.

One of the primary features of the Shure 522 is its dynamic microphone element, which is known for its durability and reliability in different environments. Unlike condenser microphones, dynamic microphones do not require phantom power, making them ideal for live settings where convenience and portability are prioritized. The 522 is designed to handle high sound pressure levels without distortion, allowing it to capture loud sources such as vocals or instruments with clarity.

Signal processing technology is another significant aspect of the Shure 522. It incorporates an internal shock mount system to minimize handling noise, making it suitable for handheld applications. This feature is essential for broadcast professionals who need to maintain high audio quality while maneuvering the microphone. Additionally, the microphone's frequency response is tailored to enhance vocal presence, ensuring that speech remains intelligible and clear even in noisy environments.

The build quality of the Shure 522 is another strong selling point. Constructed from durable materials, this microphone can withstand the rigors of regular use. Its classic design, combined with a lightweight yet sturdy frame, ensures that users can enjoy a comfortable grip while minimizing fatigue during extended periods of use. The microphone’s cardioid polar pattern contributes to noise isolation, focusing on the sound directly in front while rejecting off-axis noise. This characteristic is invaluable in crowded venues or any setting where background noise may be an issue.

Overall, the Shure 522 embodies a blend of advanced technology, practical design, and user-focused features. With its dynamic element, noise-reducing capabilities, and rugged construction, it stands as a reliable choice for anyone requiring a high-performance microphone for both studio and live applications. Whether utilized by amateur enthusiasts or seasoned professionals, the Shure 522 continues to deliver exceptional sound clarity, making it an excellent addition to any audio toolkit.
