VP83 specifications

The Shure VP83 LensHopper is a highly regarded shotgun microphone designed for professional audio capture in video production, broadcast, and ENG (electronic news gathering). This compact and lightweight microphone is engineered to deliver exceptional audio quality, making it a popular choice among videographers and filmmakers.

One of the standout features of the VP83 is its supercardioid polar pattern, which allows it to focus on sound directly in front of the microphone while effectively rejecting ambient noise from the sides and rear. This directional capability ensures that dialogue and primary sound sources are captured with clarity, even in challenging environments. The microphone's frequency response ranges from 50 Hz to 20 kHz, providing a wide bandwidth that captures the nuances of speech and other sound sources accurately.

The VP83 is built with a robust construction that ensures durability and reliability. It is designed for use in dynamic shooting scenarios, and its compact design makes it easy to mount on a camera or use on a boom pole. Additionally, the microphone features an integrated shock mount that minimizes handling noise and vibrations, ensuring clean audio capture.

One of the key technological advancements in the VP83 is its integrated preamplifier and A/D converter, which provide high-quality audio processing directly within the microphone. This results in a strong output signal that can be fed directly into a camera or audio recording device, making it a straightforward solution for video creators. The microphone also operates on two AA batteries, allowing for extended use without the need for external power sources.

The Shure VP83 encompasses user-friendly controls, featuring a low-cut filter to reduce low-frequency rumble and a configurable gain control to tailor the microphone's sensitivity to various sound sources. This versatility allows users to adapt the microphone to their specific recording environments.

In summary, the Shure VP83 LensHopper shotgun microphone combines exceptional audio performance, directional pickup, and durable design, making it an ideal choice for professionals seeking reliable audio solutions for video production and broadcast applications. Its advanced features, ease of use, and resilience position it as one of the leading microphones in its category.
