The cover must ALWAYS be fitted before any cables are installed, and should
NEVER be removed whilst the telephone cable (from socket SK4 on the PCB) is
connected to the telephone network.
3.2.2.3 Configuring the Sw itches on the Outstation PCB
Before any connectors are attached to the Outstation PCB, the configuration
switches need to be set up as described below. Refer to Figure 18 or Figure 19 for
the position of the switches on the PCB.
There are four switches on the PCB.
S2 = Lithium Battery On / Off Switch See Figure 20
S3 = Line Level Switch See Table 5
S4 = 2 / 4 Wire Select Switch See Figure 21
S6 = 600 / High Impedance Switch See Figure 22
These are set as follows:
1. Slide the PCB out of the card guides.
2. S2 - Lithium Battery On / Off Switch
Ensure that the Lithium Battery Switch (S2) is set to the ON position.
3. S3 - Line Level Switch
Ensure that the Line Level Switch (S3) is set to the required line levels. These are
stated on the installation information sheet for the Outstation. Table 5 shows
switch settings corresponding to the different levels. Switch S3 is a 6-way DIL
switch. Switch positions 1 to 4 set the Output Power and switch positions 5 and 6
set the Receive Threshold.
