If your AV amplifier (receiver) has an HDMI input, us e this connection. You can enjoy higher
quality sound from the connected AV amplifier (receiver).
To enjoy 7.1 channel sound, use a High Speed HDMI cable.
If you connect a Sony AV amplifier (receiver) that is compatible with the “Control for HDMI”
function (page16), refer to the operating instructions supplied with the AV amplifier (receiver).
1Connect the HDMI OUT jack of the
player and your AV amplifier
(receiver).
2Set “BD Audio Setting” to “Direct” in
the “Audio Settings” setup (page 45).
To enjoy the secondary audio
(commentary), set “BD Audio Setting”
to “Mix.”

Check the following settings:
–“Audio Output Pr iority” is set to “HDMI” in the
“Audio Settings” setup (page 44).
–“Audio (HDMI)” is set to “Auto” in the “Audio
Settings” setup (page4 4).

(receivers) accept 8ch Linear PCM signals. Refer as
well to instructions supplied with the connected AV
amplifier (receiver).
