Troubleshooting

Should any problem persist after you have checked these symptoms, consult your nearest Sony dealer.

CD player

Symptom	Cause and/or corrective actions
The volume does not	c If “AVLS” flashes in the display, press and hold SOUND until

cReplace the batteries with new LR6 (size AA) alkaline batteries. (page 11)

“HI dc In” appears in the	c	Use only the AC power adaptor or car battery cord in “Optional

	c	Remove all power sources, then insert the batteries or connect the
		AC power adaptor again. (pages 11, 30)

The CD does not play or “No disc” appears in the display when a CD is placed in the CD player.

cThe buttons are locked. Slide the HOLD switch back. (page 28)

cThe CD is dirty or defective.

cCheck that the CD is inserted with the label side up. (page 11)

cMoisture condensation has occurred.

Leave the CD player aside for several hours until the moisture evaporates.

cClose the lid of the battery compartment firmly. (page 11)

cMake sure the batteries are inserted correctly. (page 11)

cConnect the AC power adaptor to an AC outlet securely. (page 30)

cPress uafter one second or more has passed since the AC power adaptor was connected.

cThe CD-R/RW is blank.

cThere is a problem with the quality of the CD-R/RW, recording device, or application software.

cFiles in two or more formats have been recorded on the same CD- R/RW. (pages 6, 7)
