zHints for better capturing of smiles
• The shutter operates when any person whose face is being detected smiles.
• You can select a face to be given priority for smile detection using [Face Detection]. If you select a
priority face, Smile Detection is performed only for that face. To perform smile detection for a
different face, touch that face (page68).
• If the camera cannot detect a smile, set the Smile Detection Sensitivity to [Slight Smile].
1Do not cover the eyes with the bangs.
Do not obscure the face by hat, masks, sunglasses, etc.
2Try to orient the face in front of the camera and be as
level as possible. Keep the eyes narrowed.
3Give a clear smile with an open mouth. The smile is
easier to detect when the teeth are showing.
