Using Menu Functions
Dual Sound Sets the sound from the speaker for a stereo or bilingual broadcast.
Stereo/Mono For stereo broadcasts.
A/B/Mono For bilingual broadcasts, select “A” for sound channel 1, “B”
for sound channel 2, or “Mono” for mono channel, if
available.

• For other equipment connected to the TV, set “Dual Sound” to “Stereo”, “A”, or
“B”.
Speakers TV Speakers Turns on and outputs the TV’s sound from the TV speakers.
Audio System Turns off the TV speakers and outputs the TV’s sound from
external audio equipment connected to the audio output jacks
(sockets) on the TV.

• To use multi-channel audio, select external audio system and connect optical out
for equipment compatible with Dolby Digital.
• “Audio System” must be selected to listen to 5.1 multi-channel audio.
Headphone Settings Headphone
Speaker Link
Switches the TV’s internal speakers on/off when you connect
headphones to the TV.
Audio Out Fixed The audio output of the TV is fixed. Use your audio
receiver’s volume control to adjust the volume (and other
audio settings) through your audio system.
Variab le When using an external audio system, volume output from
audio out can be controlled using the TV’s remote.
Key Tone Select “On” to play sounds as you navigate with the remote.

• When you select “Off”, the TV start-up sound is also turned off.
Optical Out For audio signals from the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL). Select “Auto” for
equipment compatible with Dolby Digital, or “PCM” for equipment not
compatible with Dolby Digital.

Select “Off” to hide the list of analogue channels from the XMB (XrossMediaBar).
1 Digit Direct Select “On” for changing analogue channels with one preset number button (0 – 9)
on the remote.

• You cannot select channel numbers 10 and above by entering two digits on the
remote.
Auto Tuning Automatically tunes in all available analogue channels, and stores their settings in
the TV. You can run “A uto Tuning” after moving to a new residence, changing
service providers, or to search for newly launched channels.
Programme Sorting Changes the order of analogue channels stored in the TV.
