This software allows high-precision digital importing, editing and exporting of movies in various formats. You can import movies from DV or MICRODV Handycams* by simply connecting and using the one click button. Imported scenes can be cut and connected, or edited further via Adobe® Premiere® Standard and Sony’s VAIO Edit Components ver. 4.2 plug-in. Then export your edited movies to a DV or MICROMV Handycam* (MPEG1 and MPEG2 file export also possible). DVgate Plus ver. 1.3 also supports multiple channels (4ch DV-AVI capture, 4ch/5.1ch DV-AVI output, etc.) for dynamic surround sound.

Adobe® Premiere® Standard

This professional video editing software lets you easily create and edit your own Hollywood-quality videos. Just place visual materials along a timeline window, then drag and drop to rearrange them. Add titles and subtitles with scrolling effects, and add transitions to scene breaks. Or use Sony’s new plug- in for Premiere — VAIO Edit Components ver. 4.2, which supports multiple channels (4ch DV-AVI capture, 4ch/5.1ch DV-AVI output, etc.) for dynamic surround sound and gives you the power to edit MPEG files. It also lets you create visual effects such as sparkles and flames that convincingly move within your video via new 3D Particle Maker and Motion Tracker.

Personalise your music with SonicStage music software featuring a new easy-to-follow interface. First, download or record music easily from the Internet or CDs on your hard disk. Then search, sort and play back music conveniently with My Library. (SonicStage supports popular ATRAC3, ATRAC3plus, WMA, MP3, and WAV formats.) And when you want your music “to go”, create original compilation CDs in MP3 or ATRAC3 format as well as standard audio CDs on your VAIO. PictureGear Studio

Simply by connecting your VAIO with your digital camera via USB cable, or inserting Memory Stick media, you can automatically import photos to VAIO’s hard drive. Since photos are displayed as thumbnails on the screen, browsing is a breeze.
