Using Your VAIO Computer

To communicate without an access point (ad-hoc)

The IEEE 802.11n standard, using the 2.4 or 5 GHz bandwidth, is not available on ad-hoc networks.

1Turn on the WIRELESS or WIRELESS LAN switch. The Wireless indicator lights up.

2Double-click ( / ) on the taskbar to display the Wireless Device Switch window. Select your desired wireless option(s) and click OK.

3Click Start and Control Panel.

4Click View network status and tasks under Network and Internet.

5Click Set up a connection or network on the left pane. The Set up a connection or network window appears.

6Select an option to specify the ad-hoc network settings and click Next.

7Follow the on-screen instructions.
