Protecting the Hard Disk

If your computer is equipped with a built-in hard disk drive, then it has the VAIO HDD Protection utility preinstalled for

customizing your settings for protecting your h ard disk drive against shock hazards. You can sele ct the sensitivity level of the

built-in shock sensor to set the appropriate prote ction level.

See the specifications to find out about the configuration of yo ur computer.

Be aware that the solid state drive is not included in the scope of the VAIO HDD Protection utility.

Activating VAIO HDD Protection

To protect your hard disk drive against shock hazards, you must first activate the VAIO HDD Protection.

To activate VAIO HDD Protection

1Click Start, All Programs, and VAIO Control Center.

2Click Security and Hard Disk Drive Protection Settings.

3Select the Activate hard disk drive protection check box.

4Select one of the desired sensitivity level.

5Click OK.
