PAIRING INSTRUCTIONS for STEP 1100™ Earpiece

PAIRING INSTRUCTIONS for STEP 1100™ Earpiece

These instructions need to be completed only once when the STEP 1100Earpiece is first paired with your Bluetooth enabled phone. After pairing, whenever the mobile phone and earpiece are both turned on they will automatically reestablish their pairing. You simply put on the earpiece and communicate naturally. These instructions are for the Motorola Timeport 270c mobile phone.

Motorola 270c – First turn on the phone

1.Push the “Menu” button on the phone

2.Use the 4-Way Navigation Key to scroll to “Settings”

3.Select “Settings” by depressing the right Soft Key

4.Use the 4-Way Navigation Key to scroll to “Connection”

5.Select “Connection” by depressing the right Soft Key

6.Select “Bluetooth Link” by depressing the right Soft Key

7.Select “Handsfree” by depressing the right Soft Key

8.Use the 4-Way Navigation Key to scroll to “Scan All”

9.Turn On the STEP 1100 Bluetooth Earpiece by pushing its button and holding it depressed for 4 seconds (Until the LED is alternately flashing Red/Green. A low to high pitch tone will be heard from the Earpiece)

10.Select “Scan All” by depressing the right Soft Key on the phone

11.The cell phone will indicate “Scanning…”

12.“Bond with BTHS?” will appear on the cell phone screen and the phone will beep. If other Bluetooth devices are in the vicinity it will recognize them as well. The STEP Communications Earpiece will appear as BTHS (Bluetooth Head Set). If necessary, scroll to and select “BTHS” utilizing the 4-Way Navigation Key

13.Select “Yes” by depressing the left Soft Key

14.It will ask you to “Enter Bluetooth Pass Key” – enter “8888”.

15.Select “OK” by depressing the right Soft Key

16.The cell phone will indicate “Verified Bluetooth” and then “BTHS?”

17.Select “Link” by depressing the right Soft Key

18.The cell phone then indicates “Connecting…” Followed by “Connected BTHS”. A low to high pitch tone will be heard from the Earpiece.

19.The cell phone is now paired with the STEP 1100 Bluetooth Earpiece and the Earpiece LED will be slowly blinking Green. You can now press the “END” key on the cell phone keypad to go back to the cell phone’s standby screen.

Your Bluetooth Earpiece is now ready to use with the Motorola 270c.
