Remove air filter

NMove the Master Control lever to the stop position 0

NUse a combination wrench to open the clamps (1) in the direction of the arrow

NRemove the carburetor box cover (2)

NUnscrew the twist lock (3) in the direction of the arrow

Cleaning the Air Filter

If there is a noticeable loss of engine power:

NKnock out the filter or blow it clear with compressed air from the inside outwards

In case of stubborn dirt or stuck filter fabric

NWash the filter in STIHL special- purpose cleaner (special accessory) or a clean, non- flammable cleaning liquid (e. g., warm soapy water) – rinse the filter from inside to out under a water jet

– do not use high-pressure cleaners

NDry all filter parts – do not expose to extreme heat

NDo not oil the filter

Always replace a damaged filter.

NClean felt prefilter (1)

After repeated cleaning of the felt prefilter

NSeparate the parts of the filter from one another

NTap HD filter (2) clean and blow through compressed air from the inside outwards
