Ifan outside antenna is connected to the prod-
uct,be sure the antenna system is grounded so
asto provide some protection against voltage
surgesand built-up static charges. Section 810
ofthe NationalElectric Code,ANSI/NFPA 70,
providesinformation with respect to proper
groundingof the mast and supporting structure,
groundingof the lead-in wire to an antenna dis-
chargeproduct, size of grounding conductors,
locationof antenna discharge product, connec-
tionto grounding electrodes and requirements
forgrounding electrodes.
18. SERVICING
Donot attempt to service this product yourself
asopening or removing covers may expose you
todangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all
servicingto qualified service personnel.
19. REPLACEMENT PARTS
Whenreplacement parts are required, be sure
theservice technician uses replacement parts
specifiedby the manufacturer or those that have
thesame characteristics as the original part.

20. SAFETY CHECK
Uponcompletion of any service or repairs to this

21. WALL OR CEILING MOUNTING

22. DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE
Unplugthe product from the wall outlet and refer
servicingto qualified service personnel under
thefollowing conditions:
a. Whenthe power-supply cord or plug is
damaged.
b. Ifliquid has been spilled or objects have
falleninto the product.
c. If the product has been exposed to rain or
water.
d. Ifthe product does not operate normally by
followingthe operatinginstructions. Adjust

operatinginstructions, as an adjustment of
othercontrols may result in damage and will
oftenrequire extensive work by a qualified
technicianto restore the product to its

e. Ifthe product has been dropped or the
cabinethas been damaged.
f. When the product exhibits a distinct change
inperformance this indicates a need for

Theproduct should be situated away from heat
sourcessuch as radiators, heat registers, stoves
orother products (including amplifiers) that pro-
duceheat.
24. NOTE TO CATV SYSTEM INSTALLER
Thisreminder is provided to call the CATV sys-
teminstaller's attentionto Article 820-40of the
NECthat provides guidelines for proper ground-
ingand, in particular, specifies that the cable
groundshall be connected to the grounding sys-
temof the building, as close to the point of cable
entryas practical.
