SELECTING THE MTS SYSTEM

Make sure ...

•TV/VCR power must be turned on.

TO SELECT HIFI MODE

TO SELECT MONO MODE

You can change the selection to “MONO” if you want to listen to HIFI tapes in normal audio play- back.

1Select “USER’S SET UP”

Press the MENU button on the remote control.

Press the PLAY/K or STOP/L but- ton to point to “USER’S SET UP”. Then, press the F.FWD/Bbutton.

1)	Press the MENU button on the remote control.
	Press the PLAY/K or STOP/L button to point to
	“USER’S SET UP”.Then, press the F.FWD/ B
	button.
2)	Press the PLAY/K or STOP/L button to point to
	“VCR AUDIO”. Then, press F.FWD/ Bbutton.
3)	Press the F.FWD/B or REW/s button until
	[MONO] appears.

2Select“VCR AUDIO”

– USER’S SET UP –

Press the PLAY/K or STOP/L but-
ton to point to“VCR AUDIO”.	RENTAL	[OFF]
	REPEAT PLAY	[OFF]
Then, press the F.FWD/Bbutton.	AUTO RETURN	[OFF]
	BVCR AUDIO	[HIFI]
	TV AUDIO	[STEREO]

4) Press the MENU button on the remote control to

return to TV mode.

TO SELECT STEREO, SAP, OR MONO

3 Select [HIFI]	– USER’S SET UP –
Press the F.FWD/B or REW/s	RENTAL	[OFF]
button until [HIFI] appears.
	REPEAT PLAY	[OFF]
	AUTO RETURN	[OFF]
	BVCR AUDIO	[HIFI]
	TV AUDIO	[STEREO]

4To return to TV mode

Press the MENU button on the remote control to return to TV mode.

NOTES:

•Nomally, “HIFI” should be selected for playback- with HIFI sound.

•When you play non-HIFI tapes, the TV/VCR will play automatically in the monaural mode.

•The TV/VCR records automatically MTS broad- casts in HIFI stereo sound unless you select SAP mode recording before you begin recording.

2 Select “TV AUDIO”

Press the PLAY/K or STOP/L but-	– USER’S SET UP –
ton to point to“TV AUDIO”. Then, RENTAL		[OFF]
press the F.FWD/Bbutton.	REPEAT PLAY	[OFF]
	AUTO RETURN	[OFF]
	VCR AUDIO	[HIFI]
	BTV AUDIO	[STEREO]

3Select [STEREO], [SAP], or [MONO]

Press the F.FWD/B or REW/s button until [STEREO], [SAP], or [MONO] appears.

4To return to TV mode

Press the MENU button on the remote control to return to TV mode.

NOTES:

•You must select the recording mode,either TV AUDIO [STEREO] or [SAP] when you record a broadcast.

Refer to “MTS RECORDING/MONITOR MODE”.

•If you select second audio when second audio is not available, the TV/VCR will record normal audio.
