TheDefinition Install DC8i has been designed around the uniqueTannoy Dual Concentric™
driveunit to bring audiophile performance to a wide range of installationapplications;
frommedia rooms to home theatre and boardrooms through to highend marine interiors
theseloudspeakers deliver class leading accuracy,sensitivity and dynamics.
Characteristicof the Dual Concentric design is a very wide 'sweetspot' with an
exceptionallyeven response throughout the listening area,as well as an extraordinary
transientresponse; reasons enough for this phase accurateTannoy designed drive unit to
havebeen the choice of professional studio engineers all overthe world for many years.
TheDual Concentric™ is effectively two drivers properlymerged into one where, unlike
ordinarydrive units, the high frequency unit is positionedon the back of the low frequency
driver.As a result they are on sameaxis, so ensuring that sound energy is effectively
propagatedfrom the same point and delivered through the centreof the low frequency cone
astrue point source. Such integration optimises reproductionquality by providing a constant
timedelay over the frequency spectrum, exceptional transientperformance, wide dispersion
andsuperior harmonic alignment; all of which delivers to thelistening position a natural,
cleanand integrated sound with greatly enhanced intelligibility,sound staging and dynamics.
Thiscompact MDF cabinet is vented and rigidly constructed withextensive bracing to be
acousticallyinert. The speaker is designed to be hiddenwithin a custom designed
installation;mounted on wall either behind the screen or acousticallytransparent decorative
panelswith no appreciable loss of performance. The unitcan be mounted either horizontally
orvertically using the integral keyhole mounts and the suppliedwall plate.
Designedto be used in left, centre or right locations the high powerhandling DC8i is
capableof explosive dynamics with stunning detail in both musicand movie application in
vastarray of listening and viewing environments.
