Boiling Instructions
1.Remove kettle from power base.
2.Place power base on a level counter.
3.Press the switch to the OFF position.
4.Tilt the lid open by lifting up. Fill the kettle with the desired amount of water using the water level indicator. Make sure that the 0,5 litres (21⁄8 cups) minimum and 2,0 litres (81⁄8 cups) maximum amounts are observed. Close the lid and wipe excess water off the outside of kettle and power base. The lid must be closed to avoid contact with hot steam when grasping the handle and for the automatic shut off to work.
NOTE: Tilt lid open only when the kettle is cold.
5.Carefully place the kettle on the power base engaging the connector into the bottom of the kettle. Do not tip the kettle as you place it over the connector.
6.Plug power base into any 120 V ~ 60 Hz grounded electrical outlet.
7.Press the switch to the ON position; the indicator light at the bottom of the handle will come on.
WARNING: This appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use. Use proper precautions to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or other injury to persons or damage the property. Keep hands and face clear of the area above the Kettle.
8.When the water comes to a boil, the kettle will turn off automatically and the indicator light will turn off. The kettle may now be removed for use. Carry the kettle very carefully and level to avoid spillage and possible injury. The kettle may be placed on the countertop or table for serving. At anytime while the kettle is heating, you may press the switch to the OFF position and remove the kettle.
CAUTION: Do not touch hot surfaces!
NOTE: Always wait until the kettle has automatically shut off and the indicator light is off, or press the switch to the OFF position before removing from or placing the kettle onto the power base. If the OFF switch is not pressed, and the kettle is removed from the power base, the kettle will automatically turn off. If the kettle is dry and the ON switch is turned on to boil, it will shut off automatically after a few seconds but may result in damage to the unit.
