If the computer is on, begin at step 1, otherwise, skip to step 3.
1Click Start, then Turn off computer or Shut Down (depending on the system).
The Turn off computer or Shut Down window appears.
2Click Turn Off or Shut Down.
The operating system turns off the computer.
3Unplug and remove any cables connected to the computer, including the AC adaptor.
4Remove the main battery. For information on removing the main battery, see “Removing the battery from the computer” on page 46.
5Close the display panel and turn the computer upside down to locate the memory module slot cover.
