Using the Toshiba Dual Pointing Device

Checking the HDD operating status

After restoring your hard disk drive, you can check its status as

follows:

1Click Start.

2Right-click Computer.

3Select Manage.

4Click Disk Management.

5Highlight the hard disk drive in the Volume list to display its

status in the lower portion of the screen.

Installing drivers and applications

The Toshiba Application Installer allows you to reinstall the drivers

and applications that were originally bundled with your computer.

To reinstall drivers and applications:

1Click Start, All Programs, Toshiba, Recovery, and then

TOSHIBA Application Installer.

2Click Next.

3Click the item(s) you want to install.

4Click Install.

5Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation

process.

Optical drive problems You cannot access a disc in the drive. You press the disc eject button, but the drive tray does not slide out. Some discs run correctly but others do not. The disc will not come out of the drive when you click the eject button on the screen. Sound system problems No sound is coming from the computers speakers.
