Akbar 89 fire doors are a convenient and practical solution to safety and protection. Designed to accommodate optional operation methods including powered closing and testing. Akbar 89 fire doors have a 3 or 4-hour label rating for masonry and steel (minimum 316") jambs. Also available are the 34 hour and 112 hour label ratings for non-masonry walls with fire rated drywall over minimum 16 guage steel or wood studs.

For use on interior openings and recommended for use on exterior openings which may later become interior in future building expansion.

Original counterbalance spring tension is maintained up to 85% after automatic closure; if the door is raised for any reason, it will automatically close again.

Safety governor retards the speed of automatic closing to under 2' per second. Minimizes possibility of accidents and prevents impact on sills, rebound or jamming of slats—a UL requirement for automatic fire doors.

WayneGuardFire Door Release Systems (optional) provide the ideal protection you want—and need—for both people and property.

Optional Operation Methods:Manual Lift-Up—Curtain is raised or lowered via lift handles mounted on curtain bottom bar. Interchangeability—All Akbar 89 manually operated fire doors are designed to accommodate future motor, chain or crank operation.

Recommended Options For Fire Doors Larger Than 80 Sq. Ft.:

Chain Hoist—Curtain is raised or lowered by hand chain through reduction gearing on end of counterbalance assembly.

Crank—Curtain is raised or lowered via awning-type crank and operates through shaft and reduction gearing on end of counterbalance assembly.

Motor—Curtain is raised or lowered by operators, which are activated by conveniently located pushbuttons and other devices. Motor operators can be field applied to any existing Akbar 89 door.

Available with Standard (curved) or Optional (flat) 2" slats or 3" slats.

Fire Lites: For situations where visibility and/or light are required. Not available on F.M. rated fire doors.

Optional Welded Guides: As a matter of convenience and/or to speed up installation of the Akbar 89 fire door, the guides may be welded to steel jambs. This eliminates the need to drill and tap mounting holes, saving installation time and cost. Not available on F.M. rated fire doors.
