Recommended grounding method

A 115 Volt, 60 Hz, AC only 15 or 20 ampere fused and properly grounded electrical supply is required. It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only this appliance be provrded.

Do not use an extension cord. Use a receptacle which cannot be turned off with a switch or pull chain. See individual electrical requirements and grounding instructron sheet in your lrterature package.

When and how to defrost

Excess freezer lrost is prejudicial to the refrigerator’s performance, requiring extra effort from its motor. Always defrost freezer at least once a week or when frost layer is thicker than a quarter of an inch.

. Adjust temperature control to the defrost setlrng.

. Disconnect plug from outlet.

. Remove all food from freezer and refngerator. storing it adequately in a paper or polyethylene lined basket or carton.

. Leave refrigerator doors open until frost melts thoroughly.

. After defrosting, remove water from water tray; clean the refrigerator as indicated under ‘Cleaning and Care”. Put the removable parts and food back in place. Plug the refrigerator in, adjust the temperature setting as shown in table under “Temperature Control”

Caution

. Never use sharp or pornted obfects lo remove frost: thus may cause serious damage to the relngeralor system.

Cleaning and Care

The refngerabon unit does not require any marnlenance because the motor is completely seal& and self-lubncatrng. Clean Ihe refngerator thoroughf, at least twice a year, lo prevent odors and alteration of food taste.

. Remove frost at least once a month; when left longer, it changes color and forms odors.

. Before cleaning, turn the thermostat to OFF,

. Unplug the refngerator.

. Remove all food. slonng it adequately tn a paper or polyethylene lined basket or carton.

. Remove all removable parts, wash them with neutral soap or detergent.

. Wash the tnstde c! the cabrnel with a soft pad or cloth and neutral soap or detergent. rinse well, dry.

. Clean the refrigerator’s outer surface with neutral soap or detergent.

. In damp climales, protect the finish with an appropriate, good quality wax. Never wax plastrc parts.

. Plug rn the refngeralor.

Caution

. Never use strong detergents. powders, or rough pads.

. Never wash refngeralor parts in the dishwasher.

. Never use ammonia or chemical bleaches; they wtlf damage the refrigerator (kg. 3).
