Connect a dust collector to the 4" dust port on the back of the sander as shown in Figure 5.

If you do not have a dust collection system, you can buy adapters to allow hook-up to a shop vac- uum. Although not as adequate as a dust collec- tor, a shop vacuum will help reduce the amount of uncontained dust and debris.

Failure to use a dust col- lection system can result in short and long-term res- piratory illness. DO NOT operate the Model W1686 without an adequate dust collection system. This machine creates substan- tial amounts of wood dust while in operation.
