Nuance PaperPort

PaperPort is the easiest way to turn volumes of paper into organized digital files that you can quickly find, use and share. Stop wasting time looking for paper documents scattered around your office. The Xerox DocuMate 162 can scan documents directly to PDF files.

PaperPort supports one-click creation of PDF files from Microsoft Office documents and supports Print-to-PDF using other Microsoft Windows applications. A wide range of image formats can also be converted into PDF – including TIFF, MAX, JPG, BMP and GIF.

PaperPort can help you find any document on your PC instantly. Just type in a word or phrase and PaperPort will bring up the correct document immediately.

Scan to network drives by adding new des- tinations to the PaperPort folder list allows scanning direct to the desired location. Scan directly to your My Documents folder or to a network drive.

Feature Rich Scanner Drivers

The Xerox DocuMate 162 includes an ad- vanced TWAIN driver and Certified ISIS that will allow you to communicate with hundreds of enterprise content and document image management (DIM) software solutions with the press of a single button.

Scan to Searchable PDF

The Xerox DocuMate 162 software bundle allows users to automatically scan to image- over-text searchable PDF. Searchable PDF maintains the visual integrity of the original document, with the text portions of the im- age converted via OCR for search purposes and stored in a separate layer. This allows for low-cost conversion from paper to PDF, while permitting easy distribution and ability to search, link, select/copy and index the text.

Convert Existing Files to PDF

Nuance PaperPort software lets you convert existing electronic files to PDF for storage or transfer. You can also convert existing, previous scanned legacy documents or even electronic files to PDF or Searchable PDF.
