Tone Controls

The BASS and TREBLE tone controls on Channel 1 and Channel 2 permit a wide range of adjust- ment. Increase or decrease the BASS control to affect low frequency information, the TREBLE control for high frequency information.

Please note that due to the great variance between possible signal sources, it may be possible to distort the signal by adjusting the BASS or TREBLE control to an excess level.

The PIANO CONTOUR switch optimizes Channel 1’s response for piano. In the depressed position (OFF) the response is similar to the other channels.

External Effects

The EFX SEND control on Channel 1, Channel 2, and Channel 3 route signals to the EFFECTS SEND output jack. To use the effects loop connect the EFFECTS SEND jack to the input of the effects unit. Use the EFFECTS RETURN jack to return the signal from the output of the effects unit.

Line Out

The LINE OUTPUT signal from the XLR and phone jack are at mixer level. This signal level is not affected by the setting of the MASTER volume control. The LINE OUTPUT signal can be used to feed a console or an amplifier.

Limiter

The LIMITER prevents audible power amplifier clipping. Just before extended clipping occurs the signal is reduced to prevent audible clipping. The LIMITER allows clear playing at high output levels. The limiter affects only the speaker outputs.

Extension Speaker

An external speaker can be connected via the EXTENSION SPEAKER jack on the back panel. The minimum impedance of the external speaker load is 4-Ohms. The output jack is in parallel with the internal speaker so that the internal speaker will continue to operate when an extension cabi- net is used. The power amplifier is electronically and thermally protected against unsafe loads.

Headphones

Headphones can be connected to the Yorkville 200KB by inserting a headphone plug into the PHONES jack on the front panel. While headphones are connected, the internal speaker (and extension speaker) output are disabled. Always use a stereo headphone plug or the output will be nullified. With a stereo headphone the same mono signal will be heard in each ear.

*Caution: Always exercise caution when using headphones to avoid permanent hearing loss.

Power

The LED beside the power switch will light when the unit is on.

Cord Wrap

Located on the rear chassis of the 200KB is a special Velcro®-Cord Wrap. This is provided to help tie your power cord while transporting your unit.

200KB specifications

Yorkville Sound, a Canadian manufacturer of professional audio equipment, has made a significant impact in the live sound and musical instrument markets since its inception in 1963. Among its diverse range of products, the Yorkville Sound 200KB stands out as a versatile and powerful keyboard amplifier designed for musicians.

One of the main features of the Yorkville Sound 200KB is its impressive output power. The amplifier boasts 200 watts of RMS power, which translates into exceptional headroom and clarity, even at high volumes. This feature is especially beneficial for keyboard players, as it ensures that every note is heard with precision, whether performing in a small venue or a larger stage setting.

The 200KB is equipped with a 12-inch custom-designed speaker that delivers a wide frequency response, allowing it to reproduce the full sound spectrum of electronic keyboards. This speaker is paired with a high-frequency compression driver, further enhancing the clarity and detail of upper harmonics, making it suitable for a variety of musical styles and instruments.

In terms of technology, the Yorkville 200KB integrates a built-in 3-channel mixer with individual volume controls and EQ settings for each channel. This allows musicians to connect multiple instruments, such as synthesizers and electronic pianos, directly to the amplifier without the need for an external mixer.

Additionally, the amplifier features an onboard reverb and chorus effect, which allows performers to add depth and texture to their sound. This is a significant advantage for keyboardists looking to create a rich sonic landscape during live performances.

The rugged construction of the 200KB ensures durability and reliability in live environments. It is designed for easy transport, featuring a lightweight design and a sturdy cabinet that can withstand the rigors of touring.
