Before starting

IMPORTANT!

The air intake grille in the engine cover behind the driver’s seat must not be blocked by, for example, clothing, leaves, grass or dirt.

Impaired cooling of the engine. Risk of major engine damage.

Read the safety instructions and information concerning the placement of controls and functions before starting.

Perform daily maintenance before starting as set out in the Maintenance schedule.

Adjust the seat to the required position.

Start the engine

1Make sure that the clutch control is depressed. (Run position) Rider 16 AWD has one control for the front axle and one control for the rear axle.

2Lift up the cutting unit by pulling the lever backwards to its locked position.

3 Activate the parking brake. This is done as follows:

-Press down the parking brake pedal (1).

-Press in the lock button (2) on the steering column.

-Release the brake pedal while holding the button pressed.

The parking brake lock disengages automatically when the brake pedal is pressed.

Rider 11R and Rider 11 C have the brake pedal and release button on the right-hand side.

Rider 16 AWD The engine can not be started if the parking brake is not pressed down.

4Rider 11R and Rider 11 C

Put the gear shift lever in the ”N” position (neutral).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Do not press down the reversing block button on the lever when neutral position is engaged. Otherwise this will activate the start lock function.

With a cold engine:

5Move the throttle to position 3 (choke position). In this position the engine is fed with a richer mixture, which means the engine is easier to start.
