Use Of Extension Cord

If the extension cord is intended t o be used outdoors, the cord shall be marked with the suffix W - A following the cord type designation, for example - SJTW- A, t o indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use. Use an extension cord heavy enough t o carry the current the tool will draw. Undersize cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and over-heating. Make sure the exten- sion cord is in good condition before using. Keep the cord away from the cut- ting area and t o position cord so that it will not be caught on branches, and the like, during cutting. Use the table below t o determine the proper wire size re- quired in the extension cord.
