MAINTENANCE

HC-245

 

 

1.Clean dirt from the grease fitting.

2.Apply 1-2 pumps of grease into fitting, DO NOT over fill. Leave room for the grease to expand during operation

3.Wipe excess grease from around grease fitting.

Blades

Blades should only be removed and reinstalled by an Authorized ECHO Servicing Dealer, otherwise premature wear or internal damage may occur.

Sharpening

Level 2.

Parts Required: none

Hedge Clipper blades are very sharp. Touching them may lead to severe personal injury. Avoid touching blades whenever possible, and always wear gloves to protect hands.

1.Move stop switch to stop position.

2.Disconnect spark plug wire.

3.Slide blades to allow file clearance using slots on bottom of blades. Do not pry against cutting edges.

4.Follow the original shape, and file each cutting edge carefully to avoid damage to adjacent teeth. Maintain 6 mm (.25 in.) radius at base of each tooth.

If a power grinder is used DO NOT allow blade to over heat.

5.Lubricate blades (see “Lubrication”).

6.Connect spark plug wire.
