tained, lubricated, and tuned up according to the operating and maintenance instruc- tions in the owner's manual, Sears will repair free of charge any defect in material or workmanship.

If this Craftsman Weedtrimmer is used for commercial or rental purposes, this warranty applies for only 90 days from the date of purchase.

This Warranty does not cover:

_i, WARNING: This trimmer is equipped with an internal combustion engine and should

not be used on or near any unimproved forest-covered, brush-covered or grass-covered land unless the engine's exhaust system is equipped with a spark arrester meeting ap- plicable local or state laws (if any). If a spark arrester is used, it should be maintained in effective working order by the operator.

In the state of California the above is required by law (Section 4442 of the California Public Resources Code). Other states may have similar laws. Federal laws apply on federal lands. A spark arrester for the muffler is available through your nearest Sears service center (see the REPAIR PARTS section of this manual).

SAFETYGLASSES

The operation of any trimmer can result in foreign objects thrown into the eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Always wear safety glasses or eye shields while operating your trimmer or performing any

adjustments or repairs. We recommend standard safety glasses or a wide vision safety mask worn over spectacles.
