The Hand Crank charges the included pre-installed 3.6v Ni-MH battery pack which will power one of the following functions for a specified amount of time:

CONSERVING BATTERIES:

When the Weather Radio is ON The weather radio is always “listening” for alerts, even when the audio speaker is silenced. This requires substantial power, as a result, the batteries will last approximately 3 days. To conserve battery power, turn the Weather

NOTE: To prolong the life of the included pre-installed 3.6v Ni-MH battery pack, charge at least once a month for 5 minutes using the Hand Crank.

FOR LONG TERM STORAGE: slide the POWER MODE switch to the BATTERY MODE SELECTION to prolong the battery pack life.
