USE PROPER EXTENSION CORD: Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. Table 1 shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage num- ber, the heavier the cord.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES

USB005-3

DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from repeated use) replace strict adherence to grinder safety rules. If you use this tool unsafely or incorrectly, you can suffer serious personal injury.

1.Always use proper guard with grinding wheel. A guard protects operator from bro- ken wheel fragments.

2.Accessories must be rated for at least the speed recommended on the tool warning label. Wheels and other accessories running over rated speed can fly apart and cause injury.

3.Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.

4.When using depressed center grinding wheels, be sure to use only fiberglass- reinforced wheels.

5.Always use safety glasses or goggles. Ordinary eye or sun glasses are NOT safety glasses.

6.Check the wheel carefully for cracks or damage before operation. Replace cracked or damaged wheel immediately. Run the tool (with guard) at no load for about a minute, holding tool away from others. If wheel is flawed, it will likely sep- arate during this test.

7.Use only flanges specified for this tool.

8.Be careful not to damage the spindle, the flange (especially the installing surface) or the lock nut. Damage to these parts could result in wheel breakage.

9.NEVER use tool with wood cutting blades or other sawblades. Such blades when used on a grinder frequently kick and cause loss of control leading to personal injury.

10.Hold the tool firmly.

11.Keep hands away from rotating parts.

The Makita 9566CV is a powerful and versatile angle grinder designed for both professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts. This tool stands out due to its robust construction, advanced features, and a wide range of applications. With a 12-amp motor, this angle grinder delivers a speed of 6,600 RPM, allowing users to tackle tough materials such as metal, concrete, and masonry with ease.

One of the main features of the Makita 9566CV is its electronic speed control. This technology enables the grinder to maintain a constant speed under load, ensuring consistent performance even when cutting or grinding materials that may offer resistance. This is particularly beneficial when working on larger projects that require prolonged operation without sacrificing power.

The tool is equipped with a unique soft start feature, which gradually increases the motor speed upon startup. This not only reduces the initial torque, preventing sudden movements that can lead to control issues, but it also enhances user safety. The 9566CV's durable all-ball bearing construction ensures longevity, reducing the wear and tear typically associated with high-speed applications.

Makita has also integrated a built-in anti-restart function into the 9566CV. This safety feature prevents the grinder from accidentally restarting after a power interruption, providing peace of mind for users who might otherwise be concerned about unexpected startup. Additionally, the ergonomic design of the handle ensures comfort during extended use, allowing users to maintain a secure grip while minimizing fatigue.

Another noteworthy characteristic of this angle grinder is its ability to accommodate various attachments, making it versatile for grinding, cutting, sanding, and polishing. The spindle lock feature facilitates easy disc changes, enhancing productivity and reducing downtime.

In terms of weight, the Makita 9566CV is well-balanced, which aids in maneuverability and control, even in tight spaces. Its advanced cooling system helps to prolong the motor's lifespan by efficiently dissipating heat generated during operation.

Overall, the Makita 9566CV stands out for its powerful performance, user-friendly features, and solid build quality. Whether for professional contractors or serious DIYers, this angle grinder is a reliable and effective tool that excels in a variety of applications, making it a valuable addition to any toolkit.
