1.H and L needles are restricted within the number of turn as shown below, because this engine conforms to 1995 California regulations for utility and lawn and garden equipment engines as applicable.

2.Start engine and allow it to warm up in low speed for a few minutes.
3.Turn idle adjusting screw (T) counterclockwise so that saw chain does not turn. If idling speed is too slow, turn the screw clockwise.
4.Make a test cut adjust the H needle for best cutting power, not for maximum speed.
Icing prevention system
This system prevents icing of the carburetor which sometimes happen while sawing in winter.
When your saw is possible to be frozen at the carburetor during operation, use the system as follows:
1.Loosen a screw and remove the screen on the back of the air cleaner cover.
2.Turn the screen a half and reinstall to the cover.
Never use the system in normal temperature because that can cause starting failure due to overheating of the carburetor.
