K Series Power Amplifiers

6 Troubleshooting

CONDITION: No power to the amplifier.

POSSIBLE REASON:

• The amplifier's Power switch is off.

• The amplifier is not plugged into the power receptacle.

• The amplifier's low-voltage power supply fuse has blown. Return amp to Crown or an authorized Crown Service Center for servicing.

CONDITION: Distorted sound.

POSSIBLE REASON:

• Input signal level is too high. Turn down your amplifier level controls. NOTE: Your amplifier should never be operated at a level which causes the Clip LED to flash constantly.

• Load is wired incorrectly or Bridge Mono Switch is set incorrectly. Check both.

Note: If sound is distorted but clip LED is not flashing, check mixer levels and gain staging, mixer clip lights, and pads built into micro- phones.

CONDITION: Input signal but no sound.

POSSIBLE REASON:

The amplifier has just been turned on and is still in the 4-second turn-on delay.

Speakers not connected.

CONDITION: No input signal.

POSSIBLE REASON:

Input signal level is very low.

Level controls are turned down.

Input cables are not connected.

CONDITION: TLC indicator glows brightly.

POSSIBLE REASON:

The amplifier is protecting itself with the thermal level control system. Turn on a fan or turn down the level controls.

CROWN K Series specifications

Crown Audio is widely recognized for its innovative power amplifiers, and the K Series stands out as a premier solution for artists, venues, and audio engineers seeking exceptional performance and reliability. The Crown K Series amplifiers are designed to deliver high power output with remarkable efficiency, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, from live performance to installed sound systems.

One of the key features of the K Series is its sophisticated switching power supply technology. This design not only enhances power efficiency but also reduces the overall weight of the amplifiers, allowing for easier transport and setup in various environments. The use of Class D amplification ensures that the K Series maintains a high power-to-weight ratio while providing excellent sound quality. Users can expect clear, dynamic audio with minimal distortion, even at high volume levels.

The K Series is equipped with Crown’s proprietary DriveCore technology, which integrates analog and digital components into a single chip. This innovative approach streamlines the amplification process, resulting in lower operating temperatures and enhanced reliability. The amplifiers feature integrated DSP (Digital Signal Processing), allowing users to customize their audio output with adjustable EQ settings, crossover points, and limiter functions. This level of control ensures optimal performance for any sound reinforcement application.

Another notable characteristic of the K Series is its robust build quality. Constructed with a durable chassis and high-quality components, these amplifiers are designed to withstand the rigors of touring and permanent installations alike. The K Series also includes comprehensive protection circuitry to guard against overheating, short circuits, and other potentially damaging conditions, ensuring longevity and consistent operation over time.

Connectivity is simplified with the K Series, featuring a variety of input options, including balanced XLR and TRS connectors, making it easy to integrate with different audio systems. Additionally, the amplifiers can be easily bridged for applications requiring extra power, providing versatility for different sound reinforcement needs.

In summary, Crown Audio's K Series amplifiers combine cutting-edge technology, superior sound quality, and robust build design, making them a reliable choice for professionals in the audio industry. Whether for live events, installations, or studio applications, the Crown K Series delivers exceptional performance that meets the demands of modern audio environments.
