K Series Power Amplifiers

1 Welcome

Congratulations on purchasing a Crown

K Series amplifier. It is designed to provide very high power in a lightweight package, without using a cooling fan. This means your amp runs quieter (no fan noise) and cleaner (no need for filters). The K Series amplifiers are very energy- efficient as well.

Modern power amplifiers are sophisticated pieces of engineering capable of producing extremely high power levels. They must be treated with respect and correctly installed if they are to provide the many years of reliable service for which they were designed.

In addition, the K Series amplifiers include a number of features which require some expla- nation before they can be used to their maxi- mum advantage.

Please take the time to study this manual so that you can obtain the best possible service from your amplifier.

1.1 Features

Accurate, uncolored sound with very low distortion.

High damping factor for tight, clean bass response.

Advanced design for energy conservation.

Versatile, handling a wide range of speaker impedances and outputs.

Switchable input sensitivity.

“Soft Start” feature prevents the amplifier from drawing large currents when it is first turned on.

Can be mounted in standard 19-inch

(48.3-cm) rack. Uniquely molded, cast- aluminum front panel provides exceptional air circulation.

Exclusive BCA™ (Balanced Current Amplifier) power design provides high efficiency for quiet, fan-free operation.

Advanced protection circuitry guards against shorted outputs, open circuits, DC, mismatched loads, general overheating, high-frequency overloads and internal faults.

Mono mode switches allow you to set up your amps/speakers in the configuration that best suits your needs, with combined amp inputs, combined amp outputs, or both.

Patented front-panel design.

Backed by the industry’s ONLY three-year, no-fault, fully transferable warranty.

CROWN K Series specifications

Crown Audio is widely recognized for its innovative power amplifiers, and the K Series stands out as a premier solution for artists, venues, and audio engineers seeking exceptional performance and reliability. The Crown K Series amplifiers are designed to deliver high power output with remarkable efficiency, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, from live performance to installed sound systems.

One of the key features of the K Series is its sophisticated switching power supply technology. This design not only enhances power efficiency but also reduces the overall weight of the amplifiers, allowing for easier transport and setup in various environments. The use of Class D amplification ensures that the K Series maintains a high power-to-weight ratio while providing excellent sound quality. Users can expect clear, dynamic audio with minimal distortion, even at high volume levels.

The K Series is equipped with Crown’s proprietary DriveCore technology, which integrates analog and digital components into a single chip. This innovative approach streamlines the amplification process, resulting in lower operating temperatures and enhanced reliability. The amplifiers feature integrated DSP (Digital Signal Processing), allowing users to customize their audio output with adjustable EQ settings, crossover points, and limiter functions. This level of control ensures optimal performance for any sound reinforcement application.

Another notable characteristic of the K Series is its robust build quality. Constructed with a durable chassis and high-quality components, these amplifiers are designed to withstand the rigors of touring and permanent installations alike. The K Series also includes comprehensive protection circuitry to guard against overheating, short circuits, and other potentially damaging conditions, ensuring longevity and consistent operation over time.

Connectivity is simplified with the K Series, featuring a variety of input options, including balanced XLR and TRS connectors, making it easy to integrate with different audio systems. Additionally, the amplifiers can be easily bridged for applications requiring extra power, providing versatility for different sound reinforcement needs.

In summary, Crown Audio's K Series amplifiers combine cutting-edge technology, superior sound quality, and robust build design, making them a reliable choice for professionals in the audio industry. Whether for live events, installations, or studio applications, the Crown K Series delivers exceptional performance that meets the demands of modern audio environments.
