Step 1: Attach the Handlebars.

1.Remove the four loosely installed 5/16-18 x 7/8 flange screws from holes A.

2.Place the lower ends of the handlebar assembly on the outside of the upper rear corner of the frame as shown in Figure 2-1 (Item A). Align the two holes in the left side of the lower end of the handlebars with the two holes in the left side of the frame.

3.Loosely install a 5/16-18 x 3/4 hex flange screw into each of these holes.

4.Repeat the previous two steps for the right side of the lower handlebars.

5.Evenly tighten all four screws.

6.Use the two 7/16-inch wrenches to check the four handlebar control panel mounting screws (Figure 2-1, Item CC) for tightness.

Step 2: Connect the Ignition Ground Wires

1.Run the black ignition ground wire down the left- hand handlebar tube as shown in Figure 2-1 and 2-2 (Item B).

2.Plug the connector at the lower end of the black ignition ground wire into the terminal beneath the Engine Control Lever. See Figure 2-1 (Item B).

3.Attach the black ground wire

to the lower left handlebar

with the two tie straps. See N Figure 2-1 and 2-2 (Item C).
