The recovery button enables you to launch the recovery programs preinstalled on your computer.

For the Windows 7 operating system:

When the computer is turned off, press this button and then follow the on-screen instructions to launch the Product Recovery program.

When the computer is starting up and the Lenovo logo is displayed, press this button and then follow the on-screen instructions to start the Product Recovery program.

After you have entered the Windows operating system, press this button to launch the Lenovo Solution Center program.

For the Windows 8 operating system: After you have entered the Windows operating system, press this button to launch the Lenovo Solution Center program.

The following is a brief introduction to the function key combinations.

Launching the camera and audio settings (Fn+Esc)

On the Windows 7 operating system: Press Fn+Esc to open the camera and audio settings window. The camera preview is turned on. Change the camera and audio settings as desired.

On the Windows 8 operating system: Press Fn+Esc to launch the Lenovo Experience program. Then click Camera or Audio to change the settings as desired.

Volume controls (Fn + Left/Right arrow)

To adjust the sound volume from your computer, do the following:

Fn + Left arrow: Increase the sound volume.

Fn + Right arrow: Decrease the sound volume.

Adjusting display brightness level (Fn + Up/Down arrow)

You can temporarily change the computer display brightness level by pressing the two key combinations. When you press Fn + Up arrow, the computer display becomes brighter. When you press Fn + Down arrow, the computer display becomes dimmer.

Power conservation (Fn+F1)

Put your computer into sleep mode. To return to normal operation, press the Fn key only.
